CLICHES AND CONSPIRACIES (LIVE 2005)
WHITE VINYL 10″ lp
PRESALE…. RELEASE DATE AUGUST 2021
Charred Hearts are an old school UK band hailing from Swindon. Originally called The Corpses they formed in 1981. They came together from the remnants of their two previous bands, The BCGs and Static Annoyers. A bunch of street drinking 15 and 16 year olds they found their mini-rebellion in a Thatcherite England easy. The band were followed by their loyal “Corpses Barmy Army”.
In 1983 they changed their name to Charred Hearts. During this time they gigged with the likes of Subhumans, Action Pact, Chumbawumba, Newtown Neurotics etc. Several recordings were made at this time but have since been lost in the ether. They split in the early 90s.
In 2000 a chance meeting of all the original members resulted in them reforming the band. The lineup up Dermot Fuller (vox), Patrick Luszcz (gtr), Eamonn Treanor (bass) and Dave Simpson (drums) proceeded to gig regularly and put out several CDs and an album.
In 2005 Pat and Dave left the band. Lee Fellows joined on guitar and Sam Fuller (the singer’s son) joined on drums. This lineup gigged extensively across the UK and Europe including several appearances at Rebellion. Did shows with Buzzcocks, Sham 69, GBH, UK Subs, 999 and all the usual suspects.
In 2015 Sam left to take up drum duties for Peter and the Test Tube Babies, who he is still with today. Will Squier took up the role of the new drummer. This is still the current lineup.
2021 is the 40th Anniversary of the band. Naturally this has been an odd year to try to celebrate this although gigs are now being tentatively booked for the second half of the year.
This live album “Clichés and Conspiracies” will serve as an archived slab of vinyl of the original lineup.
Recorded in 2005 in their home town of Swindon this was to prove to be the penultimate performance of the original lineup.
30+ minutes of punk n roll captured in unapologetic enthusiasm.
The album features two songs never before released in any format and reworkings of other favourites.
Please play loud and do enjoy……..
